YMCA
http://www.blairymca.org/
Blair hired its first YMCA executive director in
April, 1995. The Y offers a full array of programs for all age groups.
The YMCA facility is located at 13th and Wilbur Streets. The Blair
Family YMCA opened a new $4,500,000 facility in
Blair Nebraska in July 2002. There is
no comparable community service building in Blair or surrounding areas.
This new community center serves as the focal point for building strong
kids, strong families, and strong communities. The new facility is
approximately 37,000 square feet and includes a community meeting room,
fitness center, children's play center, indoor swimming pool, locker
rooms, family locker rooms, gymnasium and administration facilities.
Community Meeting Room -
The community meeting room is strongly needed in Blair. Meeting
places for service organizations, businesses and individuals is
limited. The community meeting room offers a full range of programs
such as senior luncheons, active older adult activities, birthday
parties, and teen leadership programs.
Fitness Center - The includes cardiovascular equipment, Cybex weight training
circuit, free weights, aerobic studio and testing lab. This
comprehensive facility will allow the YMCA to offer quality
aerobics, weight training programs, fitness testing, fitness program
prescription, health and wellness programs, cardiovascular
conditioning and rehabilitation.
Indoor swimming pool - The swimming pool includes a six-lane competition pool with a zero
depth area for younger children. The pool also features a viewing
area for observing aquatic activities throughout the day. This
facility enables the YMCA to offer quality programs year round. This
new pool will meet the needs of the community for years to come.
Double Gymnasium - The gymnasium is a state of the art sports and recreation
facility, as well as a large community center. It is equipped with a
high performance wood floor. This gym is structured as a double
gymnasium, which allows the YMCA to host expanded sport and special
programs.

parents are working out at the YMCA. The play center is equipped
with its own restroom and plenty of activities for high-energy
excitement.
