Court House

Blair is a First-Class City governed by a Mayor/Council form of government. Eight Council members are elected by popular vote; two representatives from each of Blair's four wards. The Mayor is also elected for a four-year term. Day-to-day operations are the responsibility of the City Administrator, an appointed position.

 

County Government http://www.co.washington.ne.us/

Washington County is Comprised of Seven townships.
One Supervisor is elected to the governing board for a four-year term per each township.

Fire Protection

The Blair Volunteer Fire Fighters Association is staffed by sixty dedicated volunteers. They serve both rural and residential Blair and are participants of Fire and Rescue Mutual Aid to surrounding communities. The Blair Fire Department won the 2007 Community Service Award for their outstanding committment to Blair's community.
