Health Services

Medical Facilities Since 1956, Memorial Community Hospital has been the proud principal health care provider for the communities of Burt and Washington counties. Community commitment was instrumental in founding Memorial Community Hospital , with over 80 groups uniting to undertake a door-to-door campaign in Blair, Herman, Arlington , Fort Calhoun , Tekamah and all the rural townships to raise the needed funds for construction.

Hospital
On May 18, 2007, Memorial Community Hospital broke ground on the largest construction and renovation project in our history. This pivotal moment continues our proud tradition of progress. Phase I of this $24.5 million project is construction of a new addition to the hospital, and is scheduled for completion in late 2008. Phase II, which is renovation of existing space, will start as soon as departments have moved into their new space.

When construction and renovation is complete in late 2009, our hospital will be well-equipped to handle the changing healthcare needs of our community for years to come. The project is truly comprehensive and far reaching. It will modernize the building, patient units and facility infrastructure; increase patient privacy, comfort, safety and amenities; improve access, and raise the level of workplace efficiency. The result will be care that is more comfortable, convenient and efficient for our patients and their families.
